Emerica Active Orange Demo Report

This past Saturday, July 29, the Emerica team--Andrew Reynolds, Heath Kirchart, Ed Templeton, Kevin “Spanky” Long, Bryan Herman, Leo Romero, Austin Stephens, Braydon Szafranski, Matt Allen, Brandon Westgate and flow rider Marquis Preston--put on a demo at Active Rideshop in Orange, California that brought out near record numbers of Kids in Emerica. Heath, Spanky and Leo, along with Justin Regan and Jon Miner, rolled up on their Harleys to an anxious crowd of over 1000, and when Andrew pulled up, the kids completely mobbed his car.

Then the rest of the team showed up and went inside the shop to meet Hector, a kid from Make-A-Wish. Hector had a heart transplant last December and hasn’t been able to skate since then. His wish was to meet the Emerica team, so they chilled with Hector for a bit and gave him some Emerica gear and some signed posters and boards. The look on Hector’s face showed just how stoked he was. It was a pretty cool thing.

Once the demo got started, the crowd went nuts watching everyone rip. The handrail / double set / Euro gap obstacle got the most action. So many tricks went down, I could hardly keep up naming them. Toward the end, Leo was one of the last guys skating. He was getting tired, but the crowd started chanting his name. So, Leo gave the crowd what they wanted. The kickflip frontside 50-50 down the rail pretty much ended the demo.

Thanks to everyone at Active Rideshop for setting up such an amazing event, and a huge thank you to everyone who came out to see the Emerica team do their thang. It was so sick to see all of you there!
