Braydon Szafranski Biography
Happy-go-lucky, hard skating and hard partying, the Emerican whirlwind known as Braydon Szafranski offers up a steady stream of big and solid, yet technical skateboarding--all delivered with the personality of a 10 year-old with Attention Deficit Disorder. Like Herman, Leo and Matt Allen, Braydon hails from the high desert of the Southwestern United States, but far deeper into the bleak landscape than Fontucky or Victorville. We're talking about that world famous oasis of over-the-top glitz and glamour, Las Vegas.
Born October 3, 1983, Braydon began skating in 1994 on quarterpipes and mini-ramps at his house, thanks to the usual OBS (Older Brother Syndrome). After watching Kenny Anderson skate street, Braydon became hooked for life, sessioning the urban landscape like wildfire with friends Matt Ball, Rag Doll, Sammy Baca, Erik Hamamoto, Jeremy Moore--oh, and Kenny, too. It's safe to say that Braydon busted out strong in Sin City early on, then suffered an unfortunate knee injury, which set him back during the two-year filming of Emerica's widely respected This is Skateboarding video.
Don't think he's all finished, though, because Braydon got healthy again, filmed an innovative part in the Baker 3 video and subsequently turned pro in early 2006. Besides skating, Braydon currently enjoys hanging out with his friends, watching skate videos and reading skate magazines. Do you sense a (skate) pattern here? Sparking up regular sessions with good friends like Erik Hamamoto, Spanky, Erik Ellington and Mike Maldonado, Braydon's future goals include pulling a 540 on vert, stomping a 20-stair and to just "skate and have a great life."
