Emerica Invades New Mexico!

Packing up the van. Head out on the highway. Leo loves pickin'. Red rails. Lil' Jamie. Bowling crew. Jamie goes for a strike. Miner hugs Leo. Another session. Shred sleds. Dinner time. Photo ops. These photos document a trip that was spawned due to bad weather in Southern California and the insight of Leo Romero to seek a good time on the road and skate new spots. Leo hit me up on a Monday and asked if we could do a little trip to Albuquerque. Two days later, he, along with Heath Kirchart, Kevin “Spanky” Long, Braydon Szafranski, Jamie Tancowny, Jon Miner and Anthony Acosta assembled in a van at Emerica headquarters in Lake Forest, pulled out onto the highway and journeyed on through the night. I met up with the crew the following day and was heckled by everyone for flying to Albuquerque while they all suffered the 12-hour drive.

We had been to Albuquerque a few times before, hitting the Three-Mile and Indian School ditches, but we never really spent enough time there to seek out spots. Luckily, we met up with local ripper Daniel Lutheran, who was kind enough to show us around and be an all-around cool dude. Daniel invited us to his house on our last night in town because his dad wanted to cook everyone steaks. There happened to be a party going on at his house, as well, where his family was all dressed up and watching the Oscars on TV. It was seriously amazing. Thanks again, Daniel! We ended up getting some insane footage for Stay Gold and had a bit too much fun. (Check out the video above of Heath, Braydon, and Jamie shotgunning beers.)--Jetski
