wild ride 1
i joined the ride at tony's bowl. i've skated 4 times this year. i bruised my heel and broke my hand, so i was down for a bit. i rode my '77 sporty to the spot, praying it'd make it to the big apple (which of course, it didn't but later you'll find out why that's a greater cause). met the dudes, dropped in the bowl with 86d hardness wheels which didn't work out. joey tershay was kind enough to hook me up with some proper 55's and i pumped around the bowl for a bit. knowing i had a bed 20 minutes down the road, i left a bit past dark and got destroyed by bugs driving across jordan lake.

knowing it was going to be the final chance for a few days to snuggle with this fine man, i knew i'd made the right decision:

i caught back up with the crew leaving vertical urge in raleigh, nc to drive to the campsite in somewhere, nc. it was a good, easy ride other than my sportster giving me the old ironhead headaches it usually does. kevin and braydon hung back with me and i made it a few minutes behind everyone (thanks guys).
my sometimes, but more often than not, (un)reliable crapper:

i hadn't met really any of the guys prior to this trip but everyone was really welcoming. it was certainly a good crew to travel with.

this is brian, the split tm. he's a fine gent.

rick. rick is awesome. he grew up skating with one of my best friends here in raleigh.

out of kindling, mark waters improvised:

beavis would be hella stoked on this picture:

me, jon, justin, and jerry were the last to go to sleep. i was the first one up. rad. this guy slept on a picnic table, which was a good idea considering the fact that i shared my bag with about 50 ants. double rad.

if any of you smoked cigs when you were little, you'll remember the term "refry."

morning time.
this is jon majovitz. jon is homies with some of my IE friends out in california. he also had a "little accident" on the way out here which was super brutal...thankfully, he was fine.

i decided to drive back to raleigh and switch my bike out for my car...which meant larry got to come on the WR08.

patrick o'dell of epicly later'd fame and the inspiration of my photoblog didn't really have much riding experience until this trip. sand is not the surface to learn how to ride a harley on. he did fine, though.

hope this little bro wasn't in the sack with me:

harvey and kai drove all the way from the other side of canada in just 5 days for the wild ride. wow.

almost packed.
