In May 2009, Emerica pro Leo Romero and his pal Broke Bill decided to do a little shop tour around SoCal to promote Leo's new shoe, the Romero, which drops in June. We had samples of it on hand for kids to look at and they seemed really stoked. Leo and Bill cruised around in Leo’s bitchin' 1971 Chevelle hot rod. All of the shops were completely stoked he came to hang out and skate with the kids. We averaged about 50-60 kids per shop, while two of them--Legends in Downey and Pharmacy in Lancaster--attracted over 100.

Plenty of impromptu games of SKATE went down between the kids and Leo. Fellow Emerican Heath Kirchart showed up at the Furnace stop in Cypress and hung out with the kids and shop dudes. We held a skate race at Pharmacy Lancaster. About 45 kids entered, and the winner went home with Leo’s guitar. Thanks to everyone who showed up and all of the shops for having us! We just added one last stop at Pharmacy Las Vegas coming up on May 30. Leo and Heath will be signing autographs and hanging out. The shop just moved and we're doing this signing to help kick off their new location.
