Alive! Emerica team riders Andrew Reynolds, Bryan Herman and Kevin Long made it home alive from Puerto Rico today. The boys were on a Baker tour with Thrasher magazine and report that, despite the daily rains, the kids at the demos were amped to see them and they even managed to bring home some footage for our Kids in Emerica tour video, scheduled for release in Spring 2004.

Ed Templeton’s The Prevailing Nothing solo art exhibition opened last weekend in LA before quickly selling out! Selling out a solo gallery exhibition on opening night is a very rare occurence. The OnVideo crew was there to document the opening reception, which was attended by artists and collectors, many friends of Ed and even some Kids in Emericas. In fact, there were so many people there to see Ed’s show that the gallery had to shut the doors and make people wait outside in the rain to get in—and people did just that! If you missed the opening reception, don’t sweat it. The show will be up until mid-December at the Roberts & Tilton Gallery, 6150 Wilshire BLVD, in Los Angeles. Congratulations, Ed—and good job!

Leo Romero, Matt Allen and Bryan Herman are scheduled to visit the STI Laboratory this week and subject themselves to some rigorous testing on the adjustable hydraulic stair / rail platform (which raises from an eight stair to ten or twelve) in an effort to make Emerica shoes that will help skateboarders to protect their bodies and stay injury-free. The first breakthrough to come out of the STI Lab so far has been a unique cushioning system called System G2 that is being introduced in some upcoming Emerica models like the Meta. Reynolds and Kirchart have been so impressed with the results that they’re both asking for System G2 to be added to their next pro shoe offerings from Emerica, so you know it must be good.
