V7 Teenage Tour 2004!

For its 5th Anniversary, the V7 Teenage Tour, one of the most anticipated Euro skate contests, once again set the Cosa Nostra Skatepark in Chelles, France on fire. Skate addicts and competitors alike swarmed the contest and, especially, the demos put on by Team V7 and Emerica.
Of fifty-six selected kids (hailing from Angoulême, Nantes, Dijon, Lyon, Hyères, Montpellier, Hossegor and Chelles), forty-eight traveled to compete against each other on the famous street area of Cosa Nostra. There were three age brackets: 9 & Under, 10-13 and 14-17, with each skater getting two forty-five second qualifying runs, advancing to the Semi-Finals with the V7 team, followed by thirteen skaters advancing to the Finals.
Winners
9 & Under: Werner Sandos
10-13: Massis Tidian
14-17: Romain Constant

Massis shined in his second run with some impressive frontside tailslides, feebles and a big frontside 360 Indy. Romain set the rank quite high with an enormous kickflip transfer and a backflip over the big table. Werner did a long backside 50/50, a sad transfer and a backside one-foot transfer.
Emerica Demo
Just after the Finals, the Emerica team was greeted with a thunder of applause. One after the other, Heath Kirchart, Erik Ellington, Kevin Long, Leo Romero and Bryan Herman increased the heat inside Cosa Nostra with a tasty mixture of rock’n roll and tricks straight from another planet (or at least another continent).

Enormous ollie to feeble, to backside lipslide and to frontside nosegrind by Leo, plus fat 360 flip lipslides and kickflip nosegrinds by Bryan, a front blunt by Heath, a 270 shove-it to front board by Erik were just a few tricks that were pulled out of the bag. Maxime Genin, winner of the 2003 edition and now sponsored by Emerica, also skated with the team. Nice performance from Max, with a large array of tricks brought down the handrail, including a backside tailslide shove-it and a salad grind.
For the fifth consecutive year, the V7 Teenage Tour was a full success. The best moments will be compiled on a DVD very soon, as well as a special edition of Sugar magazine. Very special thanks to all the partners, riders, volunteers and the V7 staff.
